  • Hills Community Support Group offers tailored programs for people with intellectual and physical disabiltiies, crisis accommodation, support for families, respite for carers, transport services, home maintenance, assistance with daily self care, domestic assistance, library service, Yallambee program, youth services, social support and alternative to employment options.
Pick up / set down bay
  • Wide, long, level concrete bay is provided for short term accessible parking.  It is identified by a large sign with the access symbol at the head of bay.
  • Bay leads to a wide, concrete slab walkway which is uneven in some areas.
  • Walkway leads to a brick paved path 85cm wide, which connects with the footpath to the main entrance.
Parking
  • Accessible bays are located close to the main entrance of the Hills Community Support Group where the Devonshire Teas are served.

  • Wide, brick paved footpath leads to the main entrance. It has a one metre section with a left to right gradient of 1:15 gradient.
  • Main entrance is a single door 76cm wide with a high step up to the door.
  • Door has a doorknob at standing height and fly wire screen with a lever handle at high standing height.

Internal area
  • Lounge entrance: Single swing door 75cm wide, with a long threshold ramp with a gradient steeper than1:8. There is a lip at the bottom and top of the ramp.
  • Rear verandah entry: access from paved footpath by a paved ramp that is 2 metres long and 1 metre wide with a gradient of 1:12.
  • Two domestic sliding doors into the rear of the building leading to the kitchen and dining room, each 93cm wide with a lip.
  • Internal: Spacious and level carpet flooring in the lounge area.
  • Foyer and reception:  Foyer has low pile carpeting and reception desk as standing height.
  • Seating:  Chairs in reception have backrest.  Chairs of various heights and styles provided throughout the buildings. 
  • Outdoor seating is provided on a large paved area at the rear of the main building.  Long picnic style table is 76cm high with 71cm knee clearance.  Seats are moveable and have backrests.
  • Garden area and patio: Assorted chairs and fold up tables on level paving.
  • Payment and service counters at standing height.

  • Information displays and brochures have good colour contrast.
  • Displays are located at sitting to high standing height in reception area.

  • Toilet door: 82cm wide door with a doorknob and a small lock. Door has no self closing mechanism.

  • Toilet door: 77cm wide door has a lip. Door has a knob handle and small lock.

  • Lighting: Light switch located outside of cubicle at high standing height.
  • Emergency alarm: Located next to the toilet pan at sitting height.
  • Shower: Level access, with hand held shower hose. A wheeled shower commode is kept inside cubicle.

  • Entry is through the front entrance, or rear entrance by kitchen or dining room.
  • Spacious low pile carpeted room.
  • Variety of seating provided, including height adjustable high back chairs.
  • Computer is available for use. Table 71cm high with 68cm knee clearance.

  • Domestic kitchen for communal use.
  • Entry is from the lounge by 77cm wide door with a lip, or a rear sliding door off the verandah.
  • Vinyl floor surface.
  • Two benches along the side walls 90cm high, with an island bench 90cm high, with a lowered section 75cm high.
  • Space between the side and island benches is 1.1 metres. 
  • Reach to taps is 47cm.
  • Stove controls 89cm high.

Art Building
  • Two rooms are located in a freestanding building behind the main building.
  • Rooms are divided by a concertina style door with a 1.2 metre wide opening, and have low pile carpeted floors.
  • Access to the building is by a paved footpath, with entrances off a wide verandah with movable obstructions, such as chairs, along the building line.

Ladies Craft Room
  • 1.2 metre wide sliding door with a lip.
  • Table is 72cm high with 67cm knee clearance. Chairs with backrests and armrests.
  • One wide aisle will accommodate wheelchairs of all sizes.
  • Space between the table and side bench is 1.3 metres.

Mens Shed
  • Wide sliding door with a 2.9 metre long threshold ramp that has a gradient steeper of 1:8.
  • There is a lip at the bottom and top of the ramp.
  • There is a 2 metre section of paving up to the door with a gradient of 1:12.
  • Centre work bench is 76cm high with 76cm knee clearance. Other woodwork benches range from 81cm to 90cm, with no knee clearance.
  • A variety of seating is provided, including height adjustable high back chairs.
  • Aisles vary from 82cm to 1.3 metres wide, with moveable chairs obstructing access to some areas.

Offices
  • Located in two freestanding buildings off the wide concrete slab walkway that joins to the accessible pick up and set down bay.
  • First office building contains offices for Home and Community Care, and management of Disability, Aged Care and Transport services.
  • Two steps up to the door, each 16cm high. There is a hand rail on one side and steps have white colour contrast step edging.
  • Community Living Accommodation Support office: Concrete walkway leads into a 1.2 metre wide path that has a 32cm long section with a gradient of 1:8. This leads to a ramp that is 3.5 metres long and 80cm wide, with a level landing at the top.
  • Ramp has a gradient of 1:11 with a hand rail on one side.
  • 77cm wide door is located on the right side of the ramp at the end has a lip.
  • To enter the office, pedestrians turn right into a 70cm wide corridor.
