Closest accessible parking

  • One accessible parking bay in the Chalet Healy car park, next to the restaurant. It is 3.2 metres wide and 5.6 metres long, and has a sideways slope of 1:14.
  • The bay is on even bitumen and is identified with blue ground markings.
  • Vehicle access from: Internal roads of Araluen Botanic Gardens
  • Pedestrian access: Along a sloped driveway to the ramp leading to the restaurant.

External access and entrance
  • Ramp to a verandah with alfresco seating is 1.3 metres wide, 4 metres long with a gradient of 1:9 and a 3cm lip at the top. There is a wooden handrail on one side only.
  • Alternatively there is a set of ten steps opposite the front door with handrails on both sides and no coloured edging on the steps.
  • The double main door has one door 71cm wide with a 7cm lip at the base. The door is heavy to open and has a D handle.

  • Wood and carpeted floor.
  • Food counter at 90cm high with food displays at sitting height.
  • There is enough space for people using wheelchairs and walking aids to move through the restaurant.
  • Seating inside and alfresco is at tables 73cm high with 70cm knee clearance. Chairs do not have armrests.

  • External access: Access from inside the restaurant is via double glass doors with each door 66cm wide. Doors are light to open, slow to close and can be held open. There is a 2cm lip at the door and a high D handle. The external corridor is very wide.
  • Toilet door: An 80cm wide door that is heavy to open and slow to close with a D handle and small lock.
