Closest accessible parking

  • One accessible parking bay in a small car park under the Mount Henry Bridge.
    The bay is is on level bitumen and identified with blue ground markings.
    The bay is 3.1 metre wide and 5.2 metres long.
  • Vehicle access from: The Esplanade
  • Pedestrian access: Kerb ramp access from the parking area to the path leading to the toilets.
    Kerb ramp and level access to the jetty on the opposite side of the Esplanade.

Internal area
  • Wide level paths connect the parking, toilet and jetty, located across the road.
  • All other facilities are accessed across compact grass.
  • Some wide paths connect with suburban streets behind the park. These paths are sloped and follow the contours of the land.
  • The path to the walkway under Mt Henry Bridge, that crosses the river, has a steady steep slope up to the bridge. Alternatively there is a set of steps.

Signage is easy to read.
Picnic facilities
  • A picnic table, reached across grass, is 75cm high with 70cm knee clearance.  Wheelchair access is at the ends with a side approach.
  • Park benches without armrests are located on grass, near the playground or overlooking the river.

  • A small playground is reached across grass.
  • Play equipment is on sand.

Jetty access
  • The jetty has wide level access from the dual use path.
  • It is 2 metres wide with a wide open platform at the end.
  • Each side has kerb edges and handrails 1 metre high, except for 3 sides of the platform end. There are two ladders with handrails into the water from an unprotected platform edge.
  • A ramp to a lowered gated landing  is 4.5 metres long with a gradient of 1:8.
  • The jetty is lit for night use.

Toilet: Mt Henry Bridge Reserve Male and Female Accessible Toilets

  • Gender: Male/Female
  • Availability: Daily, 24 hours.
  • Customer use only: Public use toilets.
  • Description: Male and female toilets have the similar facilities. Diagrams of male and female toilets, wtih ciirculation spaces, are provided.
  • Signage: Signs over the toilet door are in good colour contrast. Toilets are identified with the male and female symbols.
  • External access: A covered 1.5 metre wide path runs around the toilet block with level access into the male and female toilets.
  • Main entrance: A 77cm wide openning into a 1 metre wide corridor into each toilet block.
  • Toilet door: An 83cm wide door with a large lock, with no door handle and no door closer.
  • Pan height: 40cm

  • Basin height: 85cm
  • Lighting: Lighting is on at all times.
