Closest accessible parking

  • Two level bitumised bays located close to the main entrance of the centre.
  • Bays are side by side, 3.7 metres wide and 5.3 metres long.
  • Clearly identified with rasied signage, line markings and the access symbol.
  • Pedestrian access:
    • Kerb ramp next to the parking bays connecting to a long wide footpath leading to the main entrance.

External access and entrance
  • Wide slightly sloping walkway links parking bays to the main entrance.  
  • The footpath veers off into three directions, the main entrance, to the stairs, and to the tennis courts.
  • A concrete ramp leads to the second level of the center and the stadium entrance. It is 46 meters long and 1 meter wide with handrails.   The ramp has gradients from 1:25 to 1:14 with three midway landings.
  • The stairs are located next to the ramp. There are 17 steps with handrails and colour contrasting edges. There is wide platform located at the bottom of the steps with one step leading up to it.
  • The footpath to the main entrance has a gentle slope, then a slope with an average gradient of 1:14. This leads to a wide level entrance.  
  • Double glass doors, 86 cm wide with one door open. The doors have a large D handle, swing outwards and are heavy to open and fast to close.  
  • A drinking fountain is located across from stairs and are 76 cm high.

  • Reception area is spacious for users of wheelchairs and walking aids.

Signage, customer displays and customer information
  • Directional signage has good colour contrast and large clear print.
  • Printed information is on notice boards and pamphlets. There is a mixture of large and small print material.
Cafe, dining and food outlet
  • Indoor cafe is spacious and located in the reception foyer.
  • No menus provided, purchase food over the counter which is at standing height. 
  • Movable plastic chairs with no arms 45 cm high. 
  • Movable plastic tables with central pedestal, knee clearance of 68cm.

Crèche
  • Open hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 12.00pm
  • Entrance: 82 cm wide swing door with large D handle, heavy to open and fast to close.
  • Internal Entrance:  There is a partition with a gate and a bench that block the entrance to creche. The partition and gate is 1.58 meters from entrance and the bench is 2.3 meters from the window. The bench is at standing height. The gate is manual with a sliding lock, swing gate light to open.

  • Signage: No directional signage, access symbol on toilet door.
  • External access: Entrance doors at corridor leading to toilet are double glass swing doors with large D handle. The doors are heavy to open and slow to close. The entrance is 86 cm wide with one door open.
  • Main entrance: Wide corridor with vinyl flooring. After you past the male toilet turn left into another wide corridor.
  • Toilet door: Swing door with small D handle, medium weight to open and fast to close. Small lock.
  • Pan height: 48cm
  • Handrails: Yes
  • Basin height: 78cm
  • Lighting: Switch 1m high.
  • Emergency alarm: Emergency call bell next to the toilet 90 cm high.
  • Shower: Shower recess is level. Hand held shower hose. Taps 1 metre high. Fold down bench seat 45 cm high.

  • External access: Wide corridor.
  • Toilet door: An 83 cm wide door that swings outwards, the door has a D handle and is heavy to open. Small lock.

  • Description:
    • Enter through emergency doors to wide corridor. Double door with large push handle, medium weight to open and fast to close, 90cm wide with one door open. Doors open only from the outside, small latch on back of door to keep open.
    • Large internal corridor with vinyl flooring, access to second set of emergency doors directly across from other doors. Toilet located and the end of the corridor.
  • Change room door: An 85cm wide door with small D handle. Heavy to open, closes slowly then quickly. Small lock.
  • Shower:
    • Level shower recess.
    • Hand held shower hose.
    • Fold down wall mounted seat 45cm high.
  • Toilet pan height: 46cm
  • Basin height: 78cm
  • Emergency alarm: Audible emergency bell provided to the right of the toilet 79cm high.

  • Double glass swing doors with large D handle, heavy to open and quick to close. 86 cm wide with one door open.
  • Rubber flooring.
  • Stairs to upper level: 15 steps to landing, then 2 more steps. Stairs are carpeted with colour contrast strips. Hand rails on both sides.
