  • Pedestrian access: Four bays near playground
    • Access via a short steep kerb to the footpath at the head of the parking bays.
    • The alternative path is along the rear of the bays to a kerb ramp at the pedestrian crossing.
    • There is a wide, elevated footpath through the remainder of the car park, to the riverside footpaths, linking to park facilities.

    • Level acess across the car park to the kerb ramp that connects to the wide, gently sloping path leading to the Bike Hire.

Pick up / set down bay
  • One set down bay located next to the parking bays.
  • Bay is 3.2 metres wide and 5.4 metres long.
  • Access to the footpath is via a short, steep kerb or from the rear of the bay to an adjacent service vehicle driveway.
Internal area
  • There is level access connecting the accessible parking bays with the paths throughout this parkland.
  • The paths connect to the riverside shared pathway (for bikes and pedestrians)
  • Paths are wide and connect to some areas of boardwalk, that have kerbed edges, with vistas overlooking wetlands.
  • There is seating with armrests and a drinking fountain near the playground and Bike Hire.
  • There is one sloped section of boardwalk between a wetland area and the upper plaground. This is 14 metres long with a gradient ranging between 1:25 to 1:17.

Play area
General information
  • The playground is set on two levels.
  • Soft fall rubber surface under the playground.
  • Park bench seating overlooking the lower area of the playground, have armrests.
  • The lower level, accessed directly off the park paths, has some children's swings including the Liberty Swing. One swing has some trunk support.
Liberty Swing
  • The key for the Liberty Swing is held at About Bike Hire (further information listed separately).
  • Access to the Bike Hire for pedestrians is via the park paths, or via the roadway to an accessible parking bay at the hire facility.
  • There is gentle slope access to the swing.
Play equipment
  • There is an area of play equipment located on top of a raised area.
  • Access is either up soft fall rubber slopes, some areas with handrails, some with small projections that can be used as steps.
  • Alternative access is via a sloping paved path and across grass and an area of mulch.
     
Drinking fountain
  • There is a drinking fountain at sitting height, located next to the riverside path, near the lower area of the playground. The push button control is 1 metre high.
Barbeques
  • Barbeques are located close to the Bike Hire.
  • They are set on a large concrete area, with the cooking surface 86cm high.

  • There is a look out on top of a grassy hill. This gives views over the wetlands, river and city.
  • Access to the look out is up 25 metres of the steep grassy hill.
  • At the top there is a loookout with a walled edge and handrails.
