External access and entrance
  • Access to the front entry of the centre is level off the Lake Street footpath.
  • Access from James Street requires the pedestrian moving to Lake Street and gaining level access, or via stairs in front of the cafe at ground level of the centre. There are five steps, with colour contrast step edges and handrails.
  • Access to the centre is mainly managed by people privately hiring the centre who are provided with a key and security procedures. People attending functions at the centre will have the entrance opened by those managing the private hire.
  • The entrance door is 95cm wide, it is heavy to open and closes slowly. It is glazed and has a D handle.
  • This door opens into a small foyer off which the lift is located that provides access to the upper level where the centre is located.
