Closest accessible parking

  • Three clearly identified accessible car parking bays are available.
  • One bay is opposite the main entry.
  • Two bays are in the carpark close to the Nocello Café.
  • Bays are on level bitumen and are 3.2 metres wide and 5.4 metres long.

Lifts

Cockburn Youth Service Lift

    • An internal lift between the Youth Centre and Youth Services.
    • Access to the lift, at ground level, is through an 84cm wide security door into a wide lift foyer. The foyer provides lift and stairs access to the upper level.
  • Levels serviced by lift: Levels one and two.
  • Assistance or independently operable: Independently operable.
  • External controls: A large switch that has a 'press and hold' instruction, until the lift arrives at the lower or upper level. The switch is 1 metre high.
  • Door type: Single entry manual swing door at the top and bottom entrances.
  • Door width: 90cm
  • Platform size: 1.1 metres wide and 1.4 metres long.
  • Internal controls: Constant pressure required on the large switch 88cm above the floor of the lift.
  • Indicators of floor level: There is a tonal sound when the lift car arrives at the top and bottom levels.

Computer room

Activity rooms
  • Large room with a varying set up depending on the activity.
  • Vinyl floor and double doors off the wide corridor, 80cm wide with one door open.
Hangout space
  • A large carpeted room off the sacious foyer used for recreational activities such as table tennis, TV or computer games.
  • Carpeted inside with couches, chairs and tables.
  • Double entry doors 80cm wide with one door open.

Hall
  • A large hall off the wide entrance foyer through double doors, 80cm wide with one door open.
  • The stage can be accessed via steps with a handrail on one side or a walk through lifting platform, that is 1.1 metre wide and 1.4 metres long.
  • Access onto the lifting platform at the bottom  is  through a manual openning, 91cm wide door. The call bells (top and bottom) are 1 metre high and require constant pressure to activate.
  • Internal controls require constant pressure and are 88cm high.
  • There is a manual half height door at the top that leads onto a large landing with an 84cm wide door onto the side of the stage.

Music Studio
  • A recording studio with secure access off the foyer.  Entrance doors into all rooms are 84 cm wide.
  • Entrance is through a wide corridor into a studio that leads to a vocal booth. A separate room off the corridor leads to a sound engineers booth.
  • There is sufficient space for a person using a wheelchair to access all of these rooms.

  • All rooms are directly off the spacious upstairs reception area.
  • All rooms have 84cm wide doors.
Outside Stage
  • At the end of the building there is an external stage with a level paved area at the base.
  • The stage is accessed via outside steps, or through a wide door from the inside stage, that can be accessed with the lifting platform.
