Pick up / set down bay

External access and entrance
  • There are several paths throughout the undulating parklands. Paths follow the contours of the land.
  • Wide bitumen paths connect the playground, toilet, barbeque and picnic facilites. The path circumnavigates Manning Lake.
  • There are park bench seats without armrests located occasionally along the path. The seats are located across grass and are set on a concrete pad.
  • The approach to the playground area of the park is via a wide bitumen path which is level.

Picnic facilities
  • Picnic tables are accessed over compact grass and are set on concrete pads.
  • They have fixed bench seating that are under shelter.  Some picnic tables are suitable for a wheelchair user to sit at the side.
  • The tables are 73cm high, with 70cm knee space.

Play area
  • The tree shaded unfenced playground is set over a combination of sand and soft fall rubber.  The sand area of the playground has a low wall around the edge.
  • Access to the palyground is via a wide, bitumen path.
  • The climbing equipment has a ramp with handrails that leads to a raised platform.  The ramp has regular landings and a change in direction.
  • There is a selection of interactive play equipment at sitting height accessed over soft fall rubber.
  • A fenced liberty swing (a swing that can be accessed by children who use a wheelchair) is located at the park on a soft fall rubber surface.  Access is through a wide.  The key for the locked swing is available from the Azelia Ley Museum (opposite playground) Monday to Wednesday 8.30am to 4.30pm, and Sundays 1.30pm to 4.30pm.  At all other times the key is available from the City of Cockburn Offices, 9 Coleville Crescent, Spearwood, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.

Barbecues
  • There are barbeques with the cooking surface 93cm high with controls at sitting height.
  • They are set on a concrete pad across grass.
Drinking fountain
  • Drinking fountain are located near the playground and picnic area, and are set on a concrete pad accessed over grass.  They have a push button control at sitting height.

  • The park is lit for night use.

Toilet: Manning Park Playground

  • Availability: 7.00am to 6.00pm daily.
  • Description: A free standing toilet block.
  • Signage: The unisex accessible toilet is clearly identified.
  • External access: Wide level access outside the toilet block.
  • Toilet door: The swing cubicle door is 80cm wide and is medium weight to open and fast to close. It has a D handle and a large lock.
  • Pan height: 46cm.
  • Handrails: Provided.
  • Basin height: 80cm.
  • Lighting: None.
