Closest accessible parking

  • There are three clearly identified accessible parking bays located about 40 metres from the tea rooms.
  • Bays are outdoors and slope from front to back with a gradient of 1:28.
  • Bays are 3.6 metres wide and 5 metres long.
  • Vehicle access from: Cape Naturaliste Road
  • Pedestrian access:
    • There is level access between the bays and the footpath leading to the tea rooms and lighthouse.

External access and entrance
  • A wide bitumen and concrete paver path connects the carpark to a plaza area.
  • A wide bitumen path leads to the lighthouse.
  • There are four steps at the entrance to the lighthouse and a further 59 within the lighthouse.

Signage, customer displays and customer information
  • A number of display boards provide information at standing height.
  • Information is in large print and good colour contrast.
Cafe, dining and food outlet
  • Tea rooms are located off a wide deck verandah through a swing door.
  • There are picnic tables located outside the tea rooms on timber deck. Tables are 76cm high with fixed bench seating on either side.  There is space for a wheelchair user to sit on either end of the table.

Toilet: Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse Unisex Accessible Toilet

  • Gender: Unisex
  • Availability: Open daily 9am to 4.30pm.
  • Description:
    • A unisex accessible toilet located at the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse. 
    • The toilets are located about 55 metres from the car park.
  • Signage: Directional signage identifying the location of the toilets is provided at key points within the facility.
  • External access: A wide bitumen walkway links the car park and toilet blocks.
  • Toilet door: The swing cubicle door is 85cm wide, is light to open and requires closing behind the user. It has a D handle and a small sliding bolt.
  • Pan height: 46cm.
  • Handrails: Provided.
  • Basin height: 79cm.
  • Lighting: Lighting is sensor activated.
  • Baby change table: Yes
  • Baby change table description: A wall mounted fold down baby change table is 90cm high when unfolded. The straps to unfold the table are 1.2 to 1.4 metres high.
