Closest accessible parking

  • Two clearly identified accessible bays close to the main entrance.
  • They have a slope from left to right.
  • Bays are 5.4 metres long and 3.7 metres wide.
  • Pedestrian access: A 50 metre long path links the parking to the main entrance.
    The first 30 metres has a gradient of 1:10, the next 5 metres, a gradient of 1:8.
    The path is level for the remaining 15 metres to the entrance gate.

External access and entrance
  • Entry into the outdoor undercover area is through the main entrance gate.
  • The gate is 98cm wide and swings outwards. It has no handle or self closing mechanism.
  • There is an alternate rear entry, it has a wide gate that is locked but opened by staff if required.
  • There is a short bitumen path from the footpath to the gate. The path has a two metre section with an average gradient of 1:9 and a large level landing leading to the ramp.
  • There is a ramp down to the area around the pools.

Internal area
  • The entrance foyer is spacious. There is level access to the office, kiosk and first aid counters which are located in the paved outdoor undercover area. Counters are at standing height,
  • Path around the pools are wide, with an uneven concrete slab surface.  There is ramped access from the paved undercover area down to the pools.
  • First ramp is paved, 5 metres long, 1 metre wide with a hand rail and an average gradient of 1:9.
  • The second ramp down to the pools is wide, 11 metres long, with an uneven concrete slab surface and an average gradient of 1:12. The alternate entry leads patrons to this ramp.
  • Park bench seats throughout the outdoor area, with some located undercover.
  • Picnic tables located undercover, each is 78cm high with 76cm knee clearance.

Play area
  • Located on a grassed area with a 7cm high lip around the edge.
  • Shaded play equipment is set on sand, with a 20cm step into the sandpit.

Swimming pool
  • The heated 50 metre Olympic pool is 1.1 to 1.7 metres deep and has an 18m ramped entry that has handrails on both sides and a midway landing.
  • The diving pool entry is via a ladder with handrails.
  • The Leisure Pool has a beach style entry. 
  • An aquatic wheelchair is available on-site and can be used to enable access into the 50m pool via the ramp and into the Leisure pool via the beach style entry.
  • One 60cm deep pool, entry by two steps.  Both are shaded with shade sails.

    • Male and female facilties have the same features and layout.
    • Located off the paved undercover area.
    • Communal, spacious changing area with benches.
  • Main entrance: A 1.1 metre wide entrance gap with no door. Corridor leading to the accessible cubicle is 1.3 meters wide, opening into the spacious area outside the cubicle.
  • Toilet door: An 82cm wide door with no self closing mechanism. It has a small lock and no handle.
  • Pan height: 36cm

  • Basin height: 81cm
  • Lighting: On at all times.
  • Shower: There is a 1cm lip down into the shower recess.
